First things first

Well first things first, I am Tracy, a single gal living the dream, enjoying my path to self discovery and self sufficiency. I feel like I should first explain my blog title and clarify that I am NOT against marriage in any way, shape, or form! I love the idea of marriage, and having a wedding, starting a family and all that good stuff. I just know I am NOWHERE near ready for any of it. You will probably start to notice that yourself as you read my blogs 

At my age (23) I have lots of friends who are married, or getting married, or in serious relationships and I love you all DEARLY; but let’s face it, we live in pretty different worlds. I felt the need to start this blog to keep the single girl voice on Life, Fashion, Love, Jobs, Family, Current Events, ECT... heard.

Let me start first by saying I have a dry sense of humor and I LOVE to be crude, so if you’re afraid you might be offended, stop reading now! 

Also I tend to ramble so if I get off track…..just go with it.

When we are born people say “welcome to the world” you know, in that sweet little baby voice that sounds so comforting (for us single girls, it’s the voice we use when talking to our dogs). Well I am here to tell you that phrase takes on a whole new meaning when you find yourself graduated from college living out in the real world recently dumped and single, working 40 hour weeks at a job that is not your dream job, bills to pay, and looking for a decent guy, actually I would trade a decent guy for a decent health insurance plan right now….

This whole new life that’s all your own seems so exciting and it is! But it is a little scary how much control you actually acquire. Everything you have experienced up until this point was the easy part. Now I will just state here that I have AMAZING parents who are VERY generous (hi mom, hi dad) but even they have to admit I have taken the reigns and am not doing too shabby living on my own two feet. (aside from the weekly shopping sprees and constantly re-decorating my apartment ) but back to that phrase “welcome to the world” I think it can be a little miss leading, at least the tone with which it is presented in. I think when I have a child I am going to just give it to them strait, right outta the womb.

“Welcome to the world baby, but that welcome is going to wear off at 18 then you better have your shit together and have a plan.”

Yeah, that’s how I am going to do it…I have always had a very straight forward attitude and I think it will really pay off in my parenting years.

I think I had a perfect combination between my parents, my mom has always been the one to remind me things could always be worse and to try and stay positive and my dad is my life size teddy bear who can fix any problem I have with a hug. Both are amazingly selfless and very good examples. If I can be half as amazing as my parents are with my own children, I will be fine with that.

Right now though I am trying to find my own ways of dealing with life’s little set- backs. I mean I can’t always run home to mom and dad when I get stressed out or something goes wrong and I dont have a husband or boyfriend to turn to for support. So for anyone who is going through a similar phase in their life here are some suggestions:

• Have a DRINK! --- After a stressful day go home and have a glass of wine. Sit down and think about the situation that is bothering you whether it is work, bills, friends, guys and look at it from every angle. Usually you will see it is not as hopeless as you thought and you can start to find a solution.

• Yoga/Mediation Classes--- I have recently started going to yoga and meditation classes at 3rd Street Yoga in Edmond. They are such a stress reliever, and a great way to keep your body and mind healthy. I was amazed how at peace I felt after the classes. With our hectic days everything seems so fast paced. It’s nice to slow down and just breathe.

• Go to happy hour with your friends. Grabbing some dinner and drinks and talking things out with your friends is a great way to overcome any of life’s problems. Chances are one of your friends has gone through the same thing and can give you advice….or buy you another shot.

• Find an interesting book to read or hobby to take up. Personally I have really gotten into learning about the Native American culture. They relate everything back to nature, and look to animals for signs of issues or blessings to come. It’s really pretty interesting.

• Pamper yourself---now be careful with this one! I like to treat myself when I have had a bad day or week or whatever. Get your nails done buy new shoes, or new clothes BUT make sure you HAVE THE MONEY! Don’t go into debt because you had a bad day k? k!

Well bitches…. that’s all I have to offer you today, I will try to do this on a daily or weekly basis. Feel free to pick topics for me to write about or questions you want answered!

God is love—RevRun……

Lots of love

Take it easy…..

Catch ya on the flip side?

I will have to work on a sign off phrase……
